My cousin owns/runs a small construction company. It started out as an
excavating business and expanded from there. He installs septic and
drainage systems, does a lot of hauling, recycles concrete, various
other things. His wife does the books via Quickbooks.
He called and asked me about "purchase order" software. That's what he
says he's looking for. I think he knows what he wants and at the same
time _doesn't_ know exactly what he wants. The best he was able to
articulate was he wants to make sure what his employees purchase for the
company gets charged to the correct job. He says what's in Quickbooks
in this regard isn't what he wants. There may be some employee
pilfering going on. I don't _know_ that, I'm just inferring that from
his voice mail.
Anyone have some suggestions where to look? I don't think he can
explain it any better, I think he'll know it when he sees it.
Of course, no software is a panacea. If he doesn't have the proper
controls on his employees, well, you know the rest.
Thanks.
