Yes, I saw that (hence my comment 'Even the DroboShare device only does SMB shares') ... but it doesn't do NFS (which is kind of important for my current configuration).

To each their own. If you've got your heart set on Netgear, that's fine.

Actually, I'm not fixed on the netgear device ... I'd be interested in other NAS devices, but I really need the NFS support.

Of course, if I really wanted to, I could build my own NAS server with RAID.... but I'm lazy when it comes to hardware these days.
