Can't help with that specific error, but I can give you a better plan
than your plan 'E'. Specifically, plan 'PSS'. Before you do anything
nearly as drastic as restoring only user data and trying to rebuild your
AD environment, please, please, please call Microsoft PSS. It will be
the best $259 you'll ever spend. Number is (800) 936-4900 for Windows
2003.

Oh, and I assume this is your only AD server, else you shouldn't restore
the AD stuff anyway, the domain still lives in the other DC(s) and you
want to just bring this DC up to be in sync with those. An authoritative
AD restore is a completely different beast.
