No problems whatsoever with Vonage. It's $24/mo while Magic Jack is $20/yr.
That's a savings of $260+ per year.

I did a chat yesterday with a Magic Jack rep. They're working on the
ability to port Vonage or other IP phone numbers to Magic Jack (a high
priority, according to him). Suggested I check back regularly.

Thanks. We currently have Vonage at home for about $24/month. Once we
could port that number to Majic Jack, I would be interested.

I think we paid $20 for it, and they will pay $20 a year or so. No
other
monthly costs, and long distance is free.

I believe they can take it to our house (4 hour drive away - I miss my
granddaughter!) and plug it in and get their calls. We have not tried
it
yet.

How much does it cost them?

Can they take it with them and make calls from anywhere as long as

We got one for our son and daughter-in-law as a Christmas gift (at
their
request). They use it all the time, and have given up their local
phone.
It is saving them money as all they have to have is a high speed
internet
connection.

Some downsides are that it takes a second or two to finish the
connection
when I am calling them. Sometimes the quality is slightly
downgraded,
but
not as bad as a poor cell connection can be.

They like it.
