For the low capacity drives it is ... but some of the drives didn't work anymore, so I wanted to physically disable the drives so nothing could be extracted from them.

Yes, it's a bit paranoid ... but better safe than sorry.

Once I got to drilling holes in the broken drives, I got a little carried away :)
