List doesn't have any header line in my clean version either.
I think it is just the standard Microsoft trash.

Thanks Peter - finally got it.

The problem was with List there is no header line - and on this
machine there was also no line when selecting any of the other options
- I had tried Details - but after reading your latest note I tried
again and finally when I tried the Properties option _then_ the header
line appeared. Used it to sort to alpha sequence and then it
maintained that sequence. Interestingly all of the other options
(except list) now have the header line back!!

Ya gotta love Windows ...
