Most probably because they're MIMO n routers. 150 Megabit .n routers
usually not MIMO, but they can be. There are also .g MIMO routers out
there.

(MIMO = Multiple Input, Multiple Output. Multiple receivers and
senders can assure to catch each signal at the strongest point of the
wave)

Also, being on 5 Ghz .a can help a lot - many high-end 802.11n routers
with a 5 Ghz radio also support 802.11a.
