Get a g or n-capable adapter.  b is in decline.  g also can fall back &
support b.  n falls back to g and b.  n is your best bet as long as the
price premium isn't bad.

n can also potentially work over a longer range than g.

As to brand .. I've no preference.  The last time I bought one I picked up
an AirLink n USB adapter for $18 at Fry's.  It worked fine while I needed it
and is sitting in my spare parts bin in case I need it again.

You might look to see which adapters have support for Windows 7 in 64-bit
mode; those would be the companies that are paying attention to the industry
and keeping their products relevant.  Regardless of whether or not you're
running Win7 today, you probably want an adapter that you can use tomorrow.
