I work as an Assistant Pastor and also as the Webmaster for a church here
in Tampa, FL. Got this project to explore several options out there that
may help us to do this. We want to be able to transmit our services:
(youth, concerts, studies, conferences, etc.) via the Internet. Obviously,
our preferred option is to have these services free of cost; however, the
peculiar characteristic we want to be diligent about is what we do not
want "ads" during the sessions or transmissions of activities / services.
We are worried for those inappropriate advertisements that may come up. I
know a friend in the ministry that currently has the ability to transmit
his services through the Internet but he has ads... when I went to see
some of the videos available from previous services, some content in
regards to medications like "viagra" came up and also few more about beers
and other type of alcoholic beverages.
I am aware that in order to get free services, they have to be "paid"
somehow and advertisements are the ones who provide that solution. That
is why that, if there is no way to get the service configuration that we
want (without the "inappropriate" advertisements) for free, I would like
to have your recommendations for the most cost/effective solution out
there that you can recommend to us. I know that there is a trend in the
online advertising techniques that now you can select the type of ads you
may want to receive. I know that Yahoo is doing that recently with the
personalized pages. There is no way you can escape from them but at least
you can tailor the type of ads that you can see. I am open to that
solution as well.
On any scenario, your input is highly valuable. I would really appreciate
all your comments on this subject.
Thanks in advance and best regards to all,
