Bob, Jerry -

I don't consider Magic Jack unreliable, but if you are performing downloads
or otherwise loading up your bandwidth on your internet connection it can at
times make your telephone connection sound like you are a million miles
away.

I haven't run it on Windows Server 2003, but what bugged me about it is that
when you plug the dongle into a computer it automatically installs their
client software, which is not the most well-behaved application that I have
ever seen. Ours is installed on my son's desktop computer and he typically
kills the client until he wants to use the Magic Jack telephone connection.

BTW Jerry, I'm not sure that the dongle will provide enough current to
provide a signal if you plug it into a patch panel...

When I tried Magic Jack, I found it to be less than reliable.

Anyone using Magic Jack with Windows Server 2003?

I know that it is not supported, and have found stuff on the net regarding
using it on WHS (windows home server).

I'd like to do this since this I have a Win2003 server up and running 24/7
in the basement.

Also is it possible to run the magic jack line into a 'junction' box that
would allow the magic jack to provide active phone lines to different
rooms?

Thanks!
