I concur on this ... it appears that the mydomain.com dns services are provided by your registrar and this should be sufficient. They have servers in multiple networks and plenty of them. Using afraid.org's dns services is overkill.

FWIW: I'm using afraid.org for my secondary DNS ... but that's only because I'm hosting my own DNS servers now. As long as the afraid.org dns server is truly a slave server, it works fine.
