I agree with this. When provisioning a used PC to someone else, a fresh
install is by far the best way to go.

Outlook settings aren't the only thing to be concerned about. From a
security perspective:
For every installed browser, did it cache passwords, address info, etc.?
Did it cache via cookie, browser setting, or other? Need to clear them all.
Are there any non-standard browser plug-ins/add-ons? Some of these may
adversely impact usage for the next person.
Do you have FTP scripts in random directories with embedded passwords?
Is your network or IBM i ID cached anywhere (shared drives, iSeries
Access/ODBC, etc.)?
Did you change/disable the regular AV scan to accommodate some process only
you worked on? That includes just excluding a directory because it
impacted performance.
Are any web/cloud techs like Google Drive, Drop Box, Xmarks/Lastpass,
Roboform, etc. installed that might have stored credentials?
Is Blackberry Desktop or other PDA sync software installed?

Credential info winds up being stored in lots of places. While your local
IDs should be disabled when you leave, sometimes things fall through the
cracks and that doesn't address cached 'net IDs.

BTW, I don't think they need to go to the point of doing a time-consuming
DOD wipe. The PC admin can either reload from their image or boot off a
Windows DVD, delete/recreate the C: partition, and install.

if they should stumble into some of your internet downloads. When we
repurpose a PC we start it out fresh. Put the latest version of the OS,
patches, latest version of the office products, Notes, etc. And even RDP
for those that use it.

I will be retiring (semi-) at the end of August and working from home a

hours a day (maybe). I plan to delete my Outlook email account on this
computer, and I have already removed all of my personal entries from the
Contact folder.



But the AutoComplete function still remembers old email addresses to which
I
have send messages in the past. Not that I might an audit (I do all of my
scurrilous work on my home PC), but some people might not want to be
harassed (as they might view it) if my work PC is turned over to someone
else.



So how do I remove these AutoComplete entries?
