Battery life is an issue for most of us, especially here where with
weaker
signal in some areas seems to take its toll.

I love my HTC Incredible. I've had it 3 years now with the original
battery still going strong. Voice doesn't eat much battery at all. Data
is what you have to watch out for. I turn wi-fi off when not at home or
some place where I'm going to use it. If wi-fi is on and you're not
connected it seems that the phone keeps trying to find a place to connect,
which eats battery. Some apps (Facebook, Friend Stream, Stocks, etc.)
seem to autostart and "phoning home", which starts to eat battery. Others
don't die gracefully (Amazon, Ebay, Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Play, etc.), meaning
that they are still running even after you exit from them. Shutting down
all of these offenders goes a long way to saving the battery.

My Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 tablet seems to be better on shutting down apps
that should no longer be running. I'm extremely fond of my unlimited data
plan so I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. If/when I do I will take
a good look at what Samsung has to offer as well as HTC.
