I can believe that, however, in my case, the ldap_connect followed by
ldap_bind is successful. Presumably, according to the citation you
provided

it does not actually connect but just initializes the connecting
parameters. The actual connect happens with the next calls to ldap_*
funcs, usually with ldap_bind()"
I am actually connecting to the AD successfully.
The problem seems to be my search arguments. Any insight on that?
