Why a desktop? I used to think there was this huge price difference
between desktops and laptops but there doesn't seem to be that issue
anymore. Why not just get a kicking performance laptop?

Or, a kicking VMWARE server and lowball laptops or ?vmstations? for people
to use against that? IDK how many users you have that might justify
VMWARE. Many of our developers laptops are VM stuff only now.

I guess a powerful desktop could double duty as your Lan Console and
whatnot and you could remotely hook up your laptop into it. That saves
much on the real data going back and forth remotely and then mostly it's
just screens.
Kind of like 5250. :-)
