Have you got Quicken on the system?

There are reports of installing an updated version of Quicken triggers
the backup prompt. There are also other reports of it starting after
installing/updating other packages so it probably is fundamentally a
Windows (7 and 8) flaw that is triggered by the installer.

I just rebooted my home pc and am now getting a prompt to backup my
encryption key.

Apparently somehow my pc thinks bitlocker is installed and wants me to
backup the encryption key or 'risk losing my data'.

To my knowledge bitlocker isn't available on Win 7 Pro - only on the
Ultimate version. I've never encrypted anything here at home.

Is it an MS attempt to thwart the NSA via windows updates? Was I hacked and
this is ransomeware?

Or is it possilby malware that MS security essentials failed to detect?

Has anyone else seen this or know anything about it?
