QNTC is a crap shoot at best.
There are alternatives.

One, install or enable ftp serving from the PC client. Lot of security
issues but it's your internal network and you've got that figured out.

Two, use NFS instead. Look at it this way - you get to mount something.

On IBM i, to access this NFS share on the PC, study the MOUNT and UNMOUNT
commands.

My MAIL1 lpar is a 'client' to my GDIHQ lpar, which is the 'server'.
On MAIL1, I want to mount over three shares served by GDIHQ.
So, on MAIL1 I run these commands:
MOUNT TYPE(*NFS) MFS('gdihq:/tmp') MNTOVRDIR('/gdihq/tmp') +
OPTIONS('rw,suid,retry=5,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,timeo=20,retrans=5,+
acregmin=30,acregmax=60,acdirmin=30,acdirmax=60,soft,async,+
sec=sys,vers=3:2,nocache')

MOUNT TYPE(*NFS) MFS('gdihq:/accounting') MNTOVRDIR('/gdihq/accounting') +

OPTIONS('rw,suid,retry=5,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,timeo=20,retrans=5,+
acregmin=30,acregmax=60,acdirmin=30,acdirmax=60,soft,async,+
sec=sys,vers=3:2,nocache')

MOUNT TYPE(*NFS) MFS('gdihq:/Banking') MNTOVRDIR('/gdihq/Banking') +
OPTIONS('rw,suid,retry=5,rsize=32768,wsize=32768,timeo=20,retrans=5,+
acregmin=30,acregmax=60,acdirmin=30,acdirmax=60,soft,async,+
sec=sys,vers=3:2,nocache')

To stop them all I run this:
UNMOUNT TYPE(*NFS) MNTOVRDIR('/gdihq/tmp')
UNMOUNT TYPE(*NFS) MNTOVRDIR('/gdihq/accounting')
Hmm, something seems to missing. See, it helps to share.
This is also quite effective:
UNMOUNT TYPE(*ALL) MNTOVRDIR(*ALL)

Yeah, all those OPTIONS were a hoot but it's just research.

Just in case you're curious, on GDIHQ I have:

/* Start Network File System support to share directories so that +
other servers may mount over them. */
STRNFSSVR SERVER(*ALL)
MONMSG CPF0000 EXEC(DO) /* Trying to determine how to proceed */
/* We do not know exactly what happened downtime of 6/2013 so we want
to */
/* gather more information next time. */
OVRPRTF FILE(QPJOBLOG) USRDTA(STRNFSSVR)
OVRPRTF FILE(QPDSPAJB) USRDTA(STRNFSSVR)
DSPJOBLOG OUTPUT(*PRINT)
WRKACTJOB OUTPUT(*PRINT) JOB(QNFS*)
DLTOVR FILE(QPJOBLOG)
DLTOVR FILE(QPDSPAJB)
EndDo

EXPORTFS OPTIONS('-I -O') DIR('/tmp')
EXPORTFS OPTIONS('-I -O') DIR('/accounting')
EXPORTFS OPTIONS('-I -O') DIR('/Banking')
...
and when I'm done
...
/* End Network File System support to share directories so that +
other servers may mount over them. */
EXPORTFS OPTIONS('-U -A')
ENDNFSSVR SERVER(*ALL)

I suspect IBM i used EXPORTFS instead of the more universal EXPORT because
EXPORT was already used by binder language. And IBM created commands for
prompting while editing binder language.
