Need an inexpensive system that only needs a web browser?
You can get a Raspberry Pi 3 for $39.95. It has a 1.2 GHz quad processor
with 1gb ram and no hard disk. But, you use a Micro SD card in place of
the HD. Needs to be at least an 8gb card.
It's size with a case is 3 3/4 x 2 3/4 and an inch thick. Cables will take
up much more room that "computer".
Add a monitor, USB keyboard and mouse and you are good to go!
The monitor needs to have HDMI input or you get a HDMI to VGA converter.
Is it as snappy as a medium-high end system? No. But for $40 what do you
expect?
I'm using one for all my web stuff including gmail.
OS Is Raspian an offshoot of Debian (Linux) and IceWeasel, an offshoot of
firefox, for a browser
So it's also a good way to have a machine that lets you play with Linux
without risking your main system,
Bob
