One of the methods suggested putting them all at the end, after the quit
command. Much like a CL program, in which the compiler ignores anything
after ENDPGM, (and you no longer need /* */ around your comments).

I would think that would work for all brands of FTP servers. Imbedding
them within on a particularly long ftp script is a different animal. That
sounds like one intensive ftp script to need that level of commenting.

Also, the noop suggestion worked against IBM i and Unix servers. Didn't
try it against a windows server.
