I did discover this: I have 5 sessions that I start as a group, the first
3 are Bypass Signon and the other 2 are not.

The 3 with Bypass Signon had their Destination Address changed to the IP
address.

The 2 without Bypass Signon did /not/ have their Destination Address
changed to the IP address. I logged on/off of those 2 sessions and the
Destination Address did /not/ get changed.

So evidently Bypass Signon has something to do with it. We're at Version:
1.1.7.1 Build id: 7290.

First of all I would do the Help, About on a sample of good and bad. With
the ability to install multiple versions of iACS you can't trust on what
you see in a particular directory. Trust me, I upgraded this week and
found this out. This also might be a good time to change them all to run
on a network share. After all, are they really going to be able to use a
5250 session if they don't have share access? Using a share will ease
upgrades. And there's one expected out THIS MONTH.

Just in case you have multiple DNS entries etc I would try the following
from DOS command prompt:
C:\Users\rob>nslookup myibmi.dilgardfoods.local
and if you have a favored DNS compare that to
C:\Users\rob>nslookup myibmi.dilgardfoods.local myfavoredDNS

Subject: [PCTECH] ACS changes "Destination Address" on session
definitions
Sent by: "PcTech" <pctech-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx>

All,

In the near term, we will be moving from an onsite IBM i to one in the
cloud. Our onsite IBM i has a 192.168.x.x address. The cloud system will
have a 10.x.x.x address.

We have an internal DNS entry that points myibmi.dilgardfoods.local to the
192.168.x.x address. When we make the move I will change that DNS entry
to
point to the 10.x.x.x address.

In preparation for this I have gone around to every desktop with ACS and
made sure that all defined sessions (.hod files) are pointing to
myibmi.dilgardfoods, local so that when we make the move, I don't need to
go
around to every desktop. (And that myibmi.dilgardfoods.local is defined
in
the System Configurations.)

For some reason, on my desktop, the Destination Address within the session
definitions keep getting changed to a hardcoded 192.168.x.x address. I
have changed them /repeatedly/ to myibmi.dilgardfoods.local and they keep
getting changed back to the IP address. I have not determined exactly
when
this is happening.

I have looked at 2 other desktops so far and this is /not/ happening at
those desktops. Their session definitions are staying at
myibmi.dilgardfoods.local. I do not see any difference in the System
Configuration from those desktops to mine.

Any idea what might be causing this?

Thanks.
