We had an issue with an early model not picking up the connection after a power failure - but that was long time ago and the problem only occurred twice and never since so I'm guessing a firmware update dealt with it.

I'm intrigued by this item and you saying it works well. But there are a
LOT of 1-star reviews. People saying things like line-of-sight required,
or a power outage causes it to revert to factory settings. Experience
anything like this?

Line of sight makes no sense ... it's networked. Once it's connected
to your wifi it's accessible anywhere you have a local network
connection. If you enable out of home access, you don't even have to
be in the house.

I have Wemo switches throughout the house and all of them are able to
connect to wifi without a problem.

I've had plenty of power failures & power blinks, never had a problem
with them resetting.
