Well,
The "c" problem was meant as an afterthought, so I apologize for the distraction. The primary query was regarding the non-functioning keyboard. I understand that keyboards die; this is not the first time. If that had been my only question, I would not have posted here. Rather, why would the whole keyboard (not just the "c" key) have gone have gone South and then mysteriously have become functional.

By the way, before I heard from youse guys (as my NJ roommate would say), I did clean the keyboard and reset the "c" so it seems to be functioning now. I still have the problem that I cannot type worth a @#$% (supply your favorite expletive).

Keyboards fail. “C” is one of the more used letter in American English, so, assuming your time is worth more per hour than the keyboard…….

Late Friday afternoon my keyboard stopped working. I had been experiencing
hiccups recently; that is typing but nothing showing up. I put that down to
"system overload" or something else.

But, like I said, late Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday - nothing.
Fortunately, I did not need to do any real work; the on screen keyboard
worked for what little I needed to do. So I ordered a new keyboard, which
arrived late last night. BUT this morning it seems to be working with one
exeption: The letter "c" does not work. So I may have to install that new
keyboard after all - or give up typing words with "c".

I did, by the way, put in new batteries. And I ran the troubleshooter, but
that came up "No issue that I see." So before I replace the keyboard.
Anything else I can check?
