To: List) <RPG400-L@midrange.com> From: Jon Paris *** Resending note of 05/07/97 18:40 Subject: While using the %ADDR built in function I receive an error ========================================================================= David - it sounds as if you must have declared the parameter in question as CONST. If that is so, then the compiler is correct in not allowing you to take the address of it. If it were to do so, you could base another variable on the pointer and change it's contents. Since CONST states that the parameter is read-only, the compiler has to ensure that that's how you treat it. I suspect that VALUE also has the same effet. If this is not what you're doing, I'd need to see a copy of the code - or a subset that demonstrates the problem. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the RPG/400 Discussion Mailing List!
