Bill,

Are you issueing a write, read or exfmt to the display file while in batch?  If
so, it begs the question WHY?

You will need to have some method of informing your program what "mode" it's
running in - batch or interactive (parameter, rtvjoba, etc.).  As long as you
don't reference the display file with any operations while in batch, then USROPN
should work.
