To begin with there is no way that &FDSC can be a 5 byte long signed numeric
with 3 decimal positions.
It must be alpha and probably 10 bytes long.

Try replacing:
        A            FDSC           5S 3P

With
        A            FDSC          10A  P


I use that to pass the name of overlays, can't see why it wouldn't work with
other values.

        For some time I have been passing reference values for DDS commands
for the
        position to parameters so that the RPG program can position data on
a page.
        However, now I would like to control the fonts the same way. Any

        The field LPDESC works fine. I want to convert it to the LXDESC
line.
        However, LXDESC gives the following error:
