Have you considered writing a short "stub" function in C to interface to this routine - then call it from RPG knowing _exactly_ what you want as parms !! Seems to me that wpould still meet your maintenance requirement and also give you the opportunity to provide a simpler interface that's more "RPG like". I'm doing this wiht a lot of different functions now where the interface is more complex than require for basic functions.
