I have no idea why you want to change the system date, unless you want to test your program for a date beyond the DATE in question. During the course of my work, when I test my programs for Y2K, I need a date that is in the year 2000 or past that date. This is because of the screens that accept the system date from the system. Otherwise how can I test it - if the date (after 2000) hasn't reached yet? I am NOT changing the SYSTEM VALUE temporary. Otherwise it will be a mess, as if I forget to reset it back to the original value, the programs that use the DATE will yield inaccurate results - and believe me - you know it - as the phones will be ringing off the hook!!!!! I am not sure about the system value - but if you do NOT change the HLL program HOW does the program know whether the century portion of the date is 19 or 20 ??? I hope I did not get you more confused!!!!! Sincerely Armando G.
