Maybe, if the compiler or optimizer had a way to know that the function
FindItem was a true function with no side-effects. But in this case,
FindItem would probably be looking up 'xyz' in a file; I don't think it
would be possible for even the most sophisticated optimizer to figure out
that FindItem only needs to be called once.
