I do not work on Unix machines. I find it interesting that they cannot deal with
packed/binary data!  However, if that is the case, you can create a logical over
the file you wish to send and redefine the packed fields as signed numeric to
eliminate the packed data.  Then send from the logical file to the Unix. - cb
