      Amen on the V3R2 issue.   This is something I struggle with
every day.   V3R2 is the newest release that will run on a ton of
AS/400's.  Our company bought an Advanced Series AS/400, a brand new
black-box AS/400 before the RISC machines were out, at the end of 94.

Yet, by 96 (less than 1.5 years of use) I was told that the OS was
basically not upgradable.   I could no longer get any of the new
features and was stuck with it.

Now, I'm not looking for ALL of the new features of V4, but are the
changes to RPG so profound that they can't be done on a CISC machine?
(As IBM has already told me!)

Our machine isn't slow for what we use it for.   Its Y2K compliant,
it doesn't need to be upgraded.   It frustrates the heck out of me
that I need to replace my hardware just because people have
arbitrarily decided that V3R2 is "dead".
