calling RPG thru java

Hello,
          I am doing internet banking project on AS/400. Client is having
existing pakage. They do't want to disturb their
         bussiness logic. We want to call rpg program form a JAVA program.
I tried the ProgramCall , but
         it is passing 2 parameters
         1. the program name
         2. An array having the list of parameters.
         How i should receive those parameters(array).
         it is sending data in bytes.

       Used CallableStatement
                 it is not allowing to send integer data.
      Can anyone guide me in this.
