strfmon() / *help*

I'm trying to figure out how to prototype some c-functions....

I have figured out a few, but I'm having problem figuring out this one....I
was wondering if anyone could help me..

int strfmon(char *s, size_t maxsize, const char *format, ...);

the example below has 4 parameters, but the syntax, has 3 definitions plus
the ...., I need help.

strfmon(string, 100, "%i", money); /* $1,234.56      */    
printf("%s\n", string);
