Jim,
I think the reason that its not going to happen for us, (and this
has now been stated many times) is simply that we don't have AS/400's
at home!
I'm one of those people who likes to play with things and figure out
what cool stuff I can do next. I'm able to call into my company's
AS/400 and do this from home, if I feel like it.
However, the company will own my source code. And our company is
not in the software business, and has no desire to join the software
business.
I can't, without huge sacrifices, anyway, get an AS/400 to do this
stuff at home.
I can set up a Linux or FreeBSD system for free at home (in fact,
I do have a FreeBSD system at home) but then I'll have unix freeware
instead of AS/400 freeware........ and I'm pretty sure that thats
exactly whats happening.
