How about: %SetDate(DateField:*C) = Century
%SetDate(DateField:*Y) = Year
%SetDate(DateField:*M) = Month
%SetDate(DateField:*D) = Day
%SetDate(DateField:*CY) = CentryYear
%SetDate(DateField:*YM) = YearMonth
%SetDate(DateField:*CYM) = CentryYearMonth
%SetDate(DateField:*ISO) = CentryYearMonthMonthDay
...
Kind of replaces *MDY move DateNumber DateField and adds a little more
flexibility. I guess you could also update the move opt code for partial
moves. I guess we could do the same with a procedure but so few use them,
biff would be easier.

I like the idea! Currently, we're thinking of a %extract
bif. We could have something like:
eval %extract(date:*m) = month
This would be consistent with %subst, which can be used on
either side of an assignment. But that name doesn't look
quite right. We may have to come up with a different name
for that bif.
I'll add the idea to our proposed enhancements file.
Cheers! Hans
