• Subject: Question on using the EVAL op code...

Hi Folks,

REALLY new to ILE but have seen SOMEWHERE that you can use the EVAL
statement to be more like SQL. As I compose this I am TRYING to find
this on IBM's manual site, with a DREADFULLY slow connection I'm about
to go nuts...

I had hoped to give this a try in a new program I have to do. Nothing
real fancy. I need to read a file and it "Field 1' is equal to C AND
"Field 2" is equal to "blank" and "Field 3" is NOT equal to "Field 4"
than move an L into "Field 2" and update the record.

Help ?

TIA !

Chuck
