Um, because the generated code is crap?
AS/SET is a tool I hated with a passion when I was forced to use it.
It generated diabolical code and amateurish-quality user interfaces,
and frequently couldn't do things we needed it to.
At least the RPG compiler seems to generate reasonably optimised
machine code, and the language provides most of the tools required to
get the job done.

I have this point also. Why do people insist in messing with the AS/SET
generated code?
Do they also insist with messing with the machine code generated by the RPG
compiler?
