Sure but don't know if the AS/400 has security on the pointers to prevent another job from accessing the temp storage of another job using a pointer. Some of this is also controlled by your security setting. I believe a 50 or higher will not allow you to store a pointer in a user space but not sure. Do not have time to research now.
