Hi Chris, > written with a reference file. We don't want to use the reference file, > so I went in and changed all the references, but in my display files I > have two fields giving me problems. I get a error on the edtcde and You seem to have confused the "keyboard shift value" in your display file DDS with the "data type" from a PF or LF DDS. This, for example, won't work: > A S@DSTP 8S 0O 18 39OVRDTA > A EDTCDE(Y) The "keyboard shift" of "S" does not allow an edit code. Try something like: > A S@DSTP 8Y 0O 18 39OVRDTA > A EDTCDE(Y) The keyboard shift field is described in the DDS reference manual. This link explains that the data type is different from the keyboard shift: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com:80/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/QBKAUI02/3.2.11 This link explains that EDTCDE keyword needs to be used with a keyboard shift of "blank" or "Y": http://publib.boulder.ibm.com:80/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/QBKAUI02/3.3.44 Hope that helps. +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
