Oh, you mean if we compile using *LIST we still have to do a backup? Thanks, Bill Graziano Programmer Brambles Equipment Services, Inc. Can you expand If you use the *LIST option a copy of the listing is saved with the *PGM object. Through the use of the debug APIs it is possible to retrieve this and therefore possible to re-create the source file. I believe one of the magazines (news/400 ?) published a program a while back that would do just that. There are also third party tools (check out www.sourceretrieval.com) that can retrieve RPG source from the program object. None of these of course should be regarded as an alternative to a decent back-up policy!! +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
