5250 Connections with Client Access Express

How can I change the connection timeout for the 5250 sessions with client 
access express.  
We are V4R4 with the latest express patch... Our problem is the ethernet line 
will soometimes freeze for up to 5 minutes, and if anyone hits enter their 
session times out and bombs.  

Any way to extend the time out?  I've looked in the help file and I've tried 
various communications settings, but to no avail.
