As you pointed out, your problem is not with RLU but is a source management
issue.
Now I am not repeat NOT defending RLU here. You said the object had been moved
but
the source hadn't? If that's what you meant then it shouldn't take more than 5
minutes to find the source. Use the following commands:
DSPFD library/printer-file
Look in the spooled file for the following line (on the first page):
Device File Attributes
Externally described file . . . . . . . . . : Yes
Since the file is externally defined we can learn more from the object itself.
DSPOBJD library/print-file *FILE
Take option 8=Display service attributes
Object . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : PRTEX4A
Library . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : IRPGV1LIB
Type . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : *FILE
Source file . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : QDDSSRC
Library . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : IRPGV1LIB
Member . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : PRTEX4A
Attribute . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . : PRTF
Looky there! I know where the source is.
Of course, none of this will help if the source has been moved but then we're
back
to te real problem -- source management.
Regards,
Simon Coulter.
