John you just made my day. Every time I install this software I feel like
the village idiot.

Have you done the GO LICPGM yet?

You have to go start --> Visual Age --> Define TCPIP Server list and
define the connections you want to make available.

Then go to start --> Visual Age --> TCPIP Communication Server on your PC

Then go to the command line of a green screen session (be sure you are
logged on as you want to be, with correct library lists, etc.) and type
STRCODE

Then open up a Code session and you should be up and running.

That should be all you need to do. IBM has made it easier to use. If
that doesn't work go onto the newsgroups at ibm.software.ibm/varpg and
read the backlog or ask again. (Personally I wish you'd ask again.
They(IBM) really feel it is an easy install and it really isn't.)

Ok, one more time. How do you get the values to start CODE/400 the
FIRST time(STRCODE).

What do we have to do on the AS/400 side to start the darn thing?

TIA
Dumb as ever
