What I am understanding you to say is that is you are going to put the text in a PF, it must be a PF-DTA, not a PF-SRC, because you can't read a PF-SRC in an RPG program. I get this from your statement that you need to convert the source file to a PF. If this is what you are saying, you are incorrect. A PF-SRC is still a PF. You only need an F spec with QTXTSRC as the file name, and it works like any other externally described file. No special incantations needed. I know because I've done it.
