RE: File field names

My point is that you have the data dictionary.  It is the file
QSYS/QADBIFLD.

However for change and recompiling I can see the point of the old Field
Reference File.  But, you have no reason to change the field name.
Especially from AAITEM# in one file and BBITEM# in another.

Adopting this technique makes referencing obsolete.  Except maybe in screen
or printer files.

Still wouldn't you want to use a data dictionary and have the files
reference the one field name in the dictionary in case of a change to the
field. I haven't been following this thread so if my comment has already
been discussed, please ignore it.
