The first step is to research the TEST opcode, which can validate dates. Then look at what you can do with MOVE as far as getting character or numeric dates into true date fields. Then pick a date in the past whose day of the week you know. Use SUBDUR to find the number of days between your anchor date and the date you're looking at. Modular division with 7 as the divisor will give you the day of the week. e.g. if the anchor date is a Sunday, if the remainder is 0 or 6 your current date is a weekend day. > -----Original Message----- > From: Troy.C.Dills@blum.com [mailto:Troy.C.Dills@blum.com] > Sent: Thursday, December 07, 2000 8:16 AM > To: RPG400-L@midrange.com > Subject: > > > Hi all, > would anyone be willing share a subprocedure or lead me in > the direction of writing a subprocedure which takes a date and > parameters passed (if any), tests it for a valid date, with > the ability to add days and depending upon the parameters > sent (parm of +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
