Gerald - It would probably be best to step to RPGIV first. Using RPGIV code enhancements in your programs is a good start. Use these as a reference: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/QB3AGZ03/CCONTENTS http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/cgi-bin/bookmgr/BOOKS/QB3AGY03/CCONTENTS I know others disagree with this but you can use the IBM command, CVTRPGSRC, to convert a few of your existing programs to get a feel for what RPGIV looks like and to get a jump start on your conversion process. It can help purge some of the doubt and hesitation that can accompany a change like you are proposing and speed up the process a bit. There are also a number of excellent books on IV that you can find info about here: http://store.midrange.com/books.htm Good luck, Bill (MY opinions only) ----- Original Message ----- From: Gerald Magnuson <magnuson@knapheide.com> To: <RPG400-L@midrange.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 16, 2001 11:33 AM Subject: Help us migrate to ILE RPG > We are a small shop (3 programmers, 1 manager). > We need to convince management on cost benefits of > migrating to ILE.
