The problem is because the CL program calls SBMJOB and SBMJOB calls NATEST. But SBMJOB has no declaration for the size or type of &CHAR, so it must convert the data to a literal. Now it passes that literal to NATEST, which is a size mis-match because character literals are 32 bytes long.
