On the FETCH statement there is a scroll option. There is a default of NEXT which means it just reads the next row, but you can also specify RELATIVE followed by a number. So if for instance you had a subfile of ten records, you would build the page by using ten FETCH operations with NEXT. Then to rebuild the previous page use FETCH RELATIVE -20 before your FETCH loop.
