The power scheduler allows you to specify both the power down and the power up
dates & times.  I've never used the power scheduler in the way you've
described (and its been several years), but I suppose no harm is done if you
specify only the Power On time.

My assumption for Jim's situation is that the power schedule specifies a Power
Off just before the Power On.  But that's just my assumption.

I am speaking under correction here,
but the GO POWER  will not issue an IPL command unless the machine is
already powered down.

I say that cos my 400 is setup with GO POWER for 7am each day,
bu it never IPLs as it is always up.

It is a safety in case the UPS drains and the 400 shuts down,
then it will power up at 7am..
