THREE WEEKS! That's ancient history in virus scanning. We are a Domino shop. We use Trend Micro's Scan Mail. We have it configured to download new pattern files from them 4 times a day. And I've seen them come out with pattern files faster than that. And the virus protection which runs on each PC is updated with new pattern files on a daily basis. User: "Help desk, why does my hard drive go nuts about twice a day, and I am not even doing anything?" Help Desk: "One, it updates the virus protection on your PC on a daily basis. Two, the backup software saves all volatile data on your PC. Don't turn your PC off at night." User: "Thank you." But we're kind of getting off of RPG aren't we? I will never open an attachment until I know exactly what it is, what it contains, and what program will process it. And if I'm unsure about an attachment, I will save it to my C:\temp directory, browse to that directory, right click and properties (which I did to this file when I saw it was .PIF) Curiously enough, this got through my e-mail server virus detection. Better go make sure it's up to date (thought I updated it 3 weeks ago) Regards, Jim Langston Me transmitte sursum, Caledoni!
